Yes, they should be allowed to serve. Also allowed to serve in the military are greedy, swindlers, selfish, prideful, idolaters, jealous, contentious, and so many more. The military is not to be held up to Christian standards of morality. It is "outside the church" (1 Cor. 5.12).
