Most of us belong to families. What does the Bible say about family relationships, commitments, obligations, and responsibilities?

Do men have more discernment than women?

A few people have mentioned ‘spiritual discernment’ as a reason why men should be the leader of the household. Are men better able to ‘spiritually discern’ matters that affect the family?

There is no Scripture that says or implies that men have spiritual discernment not available to women or that men are better able to spiritually discern matters that affect the family.

In Deuteronomy 32.28-29; Hosea 14.9, discernment is a characteristic of those who are wise. It has nothing to do with male or female.

In Psalm 119.125, any servant of God can and should have discernment.

In Proverbs 1.5; 10.13; 14.33; 16.21; 17.24; 18.15, discernment is a characteristic of those who are wise.

In 1 Corinthians 2.14, The Holy Spirit gives discernment, which has nothing to do with one's gender.

In 1 Corinthians 11.29-31; Phil. 1.10, discernment should be exercised by all believers.

There is no Scripture that men have more discernment than women.

That’s what I thought. Thank you for clarifying that.
