How do we know there's a God? What is he like?

Doesn't it creep you out that God is always watching?

Do Christians or other people who believe in a god feel a looming presence or some loss of privacy due to God?

It occurred to me the other day that the belief in an omniscient/omnipotent higher power might cause religious people to think about a constant looming presence or a similar feeling. Is this true? Does being religious "feel" like anything?

As a non-religious person I've always imagined it to be similar to the feeling that you're being watched by an actual person, though since it happens all the time it's probably more subtle.

It actually makes me more comfortable and secure. Injustice and unfairness is seen—the people aren't getting away with it. If I'm in situation where I might feel afraid or threatened, I know that God is paying attention.

We live in a world where there are cameras in every building, on the streets, and in virtually everyone's hand. This is only cause for fear if you're doing something wrong. Otherwise (if you are innocent or a victim), all these cameras will show the truth of what happened, and you will be vindicated.

I don't feel a looming presence, but a watchful eye always taking care of me.
