The arguments for theism are substantial and weighty: cosmological, ontological, teleological, scientific, axiological, linguistic, and the existence of other minds. The arguments against theism are far weaker by comparison. None of these arguments are flawless, but together they mount a formidable case for theism over against atheism or scientific naturalism. The arguments for the resurrection of Jesus are sufficient and stronger than the arguments against it, unless one comes to the table with a priori prejudice and bias that miracles are impossible (a bias that is impossible to sustain). The arguments for the reliability of the biblical text are strong, though there is plenty of debate. They are at least stable enough to support the integrity and truth of the text against the assault of accusations of mythography and fiction. The arguments for the historicity of Jesus are sound, and stronger than the arguments claiming he is legend. The evidence of people's lives being changed by Jesus is massive and of a different quality than those of people simply changing religions. The evidence from science and nature points more naturally to an intelligent, purposeful, powerful, eternal, personal source than to time+matter+chance. Even the issue of miracles is not thwarted by an appeal to science, which cannot disprove their possibility.

All in all, the evidence of theism in general and Christianity in particular is far stronger than any case against them.

I would also like to add that not only do historical findings link up with the bible, they also give it a stronger case vs other religions. For example the Islamic faith considers Jesus an important prophet but not the Son of God. They claim that Jesus was not crucified as the Christian bible states, someone else was crucified in his stead and that he fled to safety with his disciples (this helps them to explain the multiple sightings of Jesus after the crucification). However, Roman historians who created records of the crucifixion state that Jesus was crucified. With conflicting stories between Christianity and Islam concerning the crucifixion, the historical evidence that we do have it based on Roman documents gives credit to the biblical side of the story.

Thank you for this comment. You are correct that historical documents corroborate the biblical account. Tacitus, Josephus, Lucian, possibly Thallus, and the Babylonian Talmud all mention it. John Crossan, a skeptic who denies the authenticity of just about everything in the Gospels, says, "That [Jesus] was crucified is as sure as anything historical can ever be, since both Josephus and Tacitus...agree with the Christian accounts on at least that basic fact."
