It's not the accumulation of virtues, but it is the necessary one to make the others effective. In other words, forgiveness without love is just words. Kindness without love is just patronizing. Not holding a grudge, without love, is just building pressure inside of you. Love is not the total sum of these virtues, it is instead the crowning pinnacle of them.

The virtues don't make love perfect. Love is the one that ties them together in perfect harmony. Just as 1 Cor. 13.1-3 say, without love all this other good stuff isn't worth much.
