Re: Revelation apocalyptic features

There are many different views of Revelation. One is that it is a description of what is going on during the life of John, viz., the persecution of Christianity under Emperor Domitian. All of the other interpretations include various levels of predictions of the future, whether the course of history or of the eschaton (the End Times). Even Rev. 1.1, 19; 4.1 etc. suggest that the book is about the future.

Can we talk about something specific, as an example of what you're talking about, rather than just "the apocalyptic features of the book"?

Can someone explain how the apocalyptic features of the book of Revelation are meant to be predictions of the future rather than their meaning being only symbolic?
