It's absurd on multiple levels.
First, believing in Jesus makes you a Christian, not the Bible. The Bible doesn't save, but Jesus does.
Second, that would mean that fantastic scholars and theologians throughout history such as Athanasius, Justin Martyr, Gregory of Nyssa, Origen, Augustine, Aquinas, Luther, Calvin, Karl Barth, Rowan Williams, NT Wright, Stanley Hauerwas, and Walter Brueggemann have all been atheists.
Third, that quote just demonstrates that whoever shared it has the same flat view of the Bible as fundamentalists do.
