"Nice fantasy but has nothing to do with reality."

Well, it depends whether you want an answer to the question that is what the Bible says, or whether you want something made up. The Bible says God doesn't have any arms. Reason would tell us that a being without physical arms can't hug. The original question was why God doesn't interact physically with his followers. The reason is because God is not a physical being. If God were a physical being, he wouldn't be God.

"He's not neglecting us; he hugs us with the human arms of people who care."

Nice fantasy but has nothing to do with reality. Also called "mental acrobatics"!

John 4.24 tells us that God is spirit, meaning he is non-corporeal, not material. He reveals himself occasionally through light or sound, but never through touch, except in the person of Jesus. It sure would be nice to get hugs, but since he has no arms, sometimes the hugs of those who love us are the arms of God. In 1 Corinthians 12 we hear that the church is God's body, and people are his hands in our physical world. He's not neglecting us; he hugs us with the human arms of people who care.

For example, I never hear about God interacting through smell or touch. Usually I hear about God in the form of visual appearance or sound. Why doesn't God console us in our darkest moments? Sometimes, I could really use a hug. I would think that God could give the greatest hugs ever.

Have you ever hugged your mother? When my mother gives me a hug, it's like a super hug, and all of the pain falls away. Why does God not give people this feeling every day? Why does he neglect us?
