The Bible doesn't define it for us. It describes it. It is often shown to be sacrificial (Jn. 10.11; 15.13). 1 Corinthians 13.4-8a gives us many descriptors of love. Taking together the biblical descriptions, I have come up with a definition of love as "making a willful choice to selflessly and sacrificially serve others for their benefit."
