> Jesus is a descendant of Jechoniah ... (Mat 1:1)

Oddly enough, Matthew 1.1 asserts that Jesus is a descendant of David. The Matthew genealogy shows, as the OT does, that David is of the tribe of Judah, prophesied to be the kingly line of the nation and the line of the messiah.

Now, Matthew 1.11 mentions Jeconiah, so maybe it was a typo. You'll notice that Matthew conspicuously omits Jehoiakim.

> God cursed and stripped from Jehoakim and his house their right to sit on David's throne... (Jerem 36:30): "Therefore Yahweh says concerning Jehoiakim king of Judah: “He will have no one to sit on David’s throne. His dead body will be cast out in the day to the heat, and in the night to the frost."

Here's where your mistake is, so let's talk.

In Jeremiah 36.30, the prophecy states, as you say, that God "stripped from Jehoiakim and his house their right to sit on David's throne." But the prophecy relates to Jehoiakim's family alone: his family (he and his sons and his attendants, Jer. 36.31) will be denied the right to rule Judah. This judgment does not extend any further than that. **The judgment is on the family of Jehoiakim, not on the line of David.**

Therefore Jesus was qualified, as a descendant of David, to sit on David's throne.

Jesus was not qualified to sit on David's throne... According to the New Testament

1)- Jesus is a descendant of Jechoniah ... (Mat 1:1)

2)- Jechoniah is also son of Jehoakim ... (1 Chron 3:16)

3)- God cursed and stripped from Jehoakim and his house their right to sit on David's throne... (Jerem 36:30)
