Nah, I'm married. In the NT ( 1 Corinthians 7, 9.5) Paul talks about some of the advantages of chastity (possibly greater time available for ministry, fewer family distractions [vv. 32-35]), but marriage is just as much a gift of God as chastity is. Neither one is presented as the "heroic" manner of living.

Do you believe in being chaste for life?

I am an atheist who is somewhat spiritual, and very very conservative (strange combination, I realise).

I personally, for the most part, believe that while most people are evidently not chaste for life, Christian or not, I really respect and admire those who believe in it. I was wondering if there was anyone here who believes in being chaste for life and why you believe it and follow that lifestyle, for lack of a better term.

I am definitely not trying to start any arguments (as I said, I am very conservative and respect this despite being an atheist).
