My fiancee (excommunicated former evangelical Christian) and I (ex-catholic) are arguing about this!

Just once. After approximately 3 years of ministry, at roughly age 33, Jesus was crucified by the Roman authorities at the insistence of the Jewish authorities. That would be his first, and only, death. He rose from the dead, stayed around for 40 days to give physical, material evidence of his bodily resurrection, and then ascended into heaven (yeah, levitated skyward while vertical). Didn't die again. He's still alive.
