Question about gods omnipresence.

Postby Salty » Sun Mar 01, 2020 5:07 pm

I was reading the bible and was under the impression that god is omnipresent. Yet god seemed unaware that Adam and Eve had eaten from the tree of knowledge until after he noticed their odd behavior. Was he just willfully ignorant of their actions or do.i misunderstand the meaning?

As you read all of the Bible, you'll see that God often asks questions, not because He doesn't know, but to elicit thought and a response from the people to whom He's speaking. Here He wants the man and woman to consider what they've done and why. He wants them to answer Him about these important questions: (1) How did you come upon this knowledge?, and (2) Have you blatantly disobeyed Me?

His questions aren't to gain knowledge; He already knows what happened and what they've done and why. But there's value in the question for THEM, the couple. He wants them to tell the truth and to bring them to confession.
