Revelation 19:10

Good morning! In Revelation 19:10b it says “For it is the Spirit of Prophecy who bears testimony to Jesus.” Does this essentially mean that when we share our testimony & our encounter with Jesus, that we are prophesying over the person we are sharing our testimony to- that they’d be encountered?

I think what the sentence means is that the Scriptures aren’t given to us so that we exalt angels or prophets, both messengers, but rather Jesus/God Himself. The Spirit is not leading us to worship angels, but Jesus instead. “Worship God,” not the messengers, because the spirit of prophecy is pointing to Jesus and nowhere/no one else. The message is available to all Christians (not just John or any one prophet); it’s an “open scroll,” so to speak, to be read and understood by all, not just by an elite few (Rev. 22.10). The Spirit is what gives anyone the capacity to understand the Scriptures (2 Cor. 2.14), and the Spirit is pointing to the Lamb of God (v. 9).

So I don’t think it means any of what you said (sorry). It’s not about us witnessing to people or that we are prophesying over the person with whom we are sharing our testimony.
