I just read Leviticus 26:29 . .. why did God say eat the kids ?!?

Jacob Milgrom writes, "God is not the subject. Cannibalism is the result of such a drastic shortage of food."

John Walton adds, "Only ultimate desperation and immanent starvation would cause the people of the ancient Near East to resort to cannibalism (see 2 Kings 6:24-30). It is included as part of the curses section here and in Dt. 28:53-57 and in the Assyrian Treaties of the 7th century BC to demonstrate just how horrible God’s punishment will be on the disobedient."

it was not a command it was a prophecy of a curse that will happen to them if they dont follow god
