Why would God make us skeptical of him by nature instead of being completely neutral to his existence?

Like did he want to ensure people who worship him trust in a lot or?

The first part of our discussion (and I would like to discuss it) is: Where do you get the idea that God made us skeptical of Him? Since you're asking a Christian, you must think that comes from the Bible somewhere. I'm not aware of it, but I'd like to talk about it. Where is the teaching that God made us this way?
