How do we know there's a God? What is he like?

I used to be a jw. Why in the world do you still worship God

I am an ex-jw (that stands for ex jehovah’s witness). Based on the doctrine, some would argue jws aren’t really christians. I went from believing in a loving god, and the bible to guide my life into being an agnostic. If there is a god I don’t want to worship him based on his past actions and the current state of the earth.

My questions are: have you had doubts in your faith or love for god? Why do you still chose to worship it?

Thinking and feeling people always have questions and doubts. Life is hard. Anybody who doesn't have questions and doubts is living in some kind of denial. But my examination of God in the Scriptures and experiences in my life motivate me more strongly to worship God.

You say "his past actions." Maybe you want to talk about that.

The current state of the Earth. The Bible is very straightforward and forthcoming that the state of humans is characterized by suffering. Pain and evil are both real in the Bible. The Old Testament is filled with it—and people's failures. That's why we need a Savior. Without God, there is no hope, and certainly no redemption.

My doubts don't motivate me to turn away from God. They motivate me to ask more questions, investigate deeper, search for truth and seek answers.
