How is it fair that God murdered an innocent baby to punish the baby’s father. Why is this morally acceptable?

In 2 Samuel 12.23, we find out that God took the baby to heaven. It was a judgment for David, for he would be deprived of the child he bore. It was also a blessing for David, or else he would be reminded daily of his sin. It was also a blessing for the baby, because he went to heaven without having to go through life.
