There you go again Jim. Repent is not found in the new testament in regard to salvation. Repent and turn or get right or burn. That's not the gospel.

Again we disagree, my friend.

In Acts 2.38, during Peter’s very first sermon, at Pentecost. The people had heard his sermon about salvation (Acts 2.21), and asked what they could do (37). He told them to repent (Acts 2.38) for forgiveness of their sins (salvation).

Similar sermons and teaching come in Acts 3.19; 5.31; 8.22; 17.30; 20.21; 26.20.

Paul preaches repentance for salvation in Romans 2.4. Paul is very clear in linking repentance with salvation in 2 Corinthians 7.10. You can also look at 2 Timothy 2.25.

Hebrews mentions repentance with salvation in Hebrews 6.1.

Peter writes of it in 2 Peter 3.9.

And not to leave Jesus out, he opened his ministry with a message of repentance (Matt. 3.2; 4.17). He teaches it also in many other places including Luke 13 and Luke 15.

John the Baptist preached repentance for the forgiveness of sins (Mark 1.4).

Luke 24.47 says that repentance will be a continuing message of the Church for ages to come, so that people can be forgiven for their sins, in other words, saved.

The message of the Gospel is repent, so that your sins can be forgiven and you can be saved. Repentance is seldom if ever combined with teaching about hell (“turn or burn”). Repentance is linked with forgiveness.
