Yeah, pretty much everything is dangerous: the jungle, cliffs, high mountains, the desert, the ocean, and space, to name a few.
God wants us to explore it so we can learn (science) and so we can manage it (stewardship). It's great that He has given us both brains and responsibility and He expects us to use them.
The dangers of the environment are continual reminders of how fragile and vulnerable we are as people, that we not immortals or all-powerful. Instead, we learn the wisdom of seeing life as a gift and not to take it for granted.
