Should Jesus have known better?

Should Jesus have known better? If he knew how humans are, shouldn't he have known they would arrest him?

Full disclosure, I know next to nothing about the Bible, so if I say something stupid, I apologize.

If Jesus knew how people would react to what he was doing, why do it? Now, I understand that this sounds like victim-blaming, but I know that if I don't want to get bothered by a cop, I don't break the law. I find the story of Jesus incredibly fascinating. There was the Messiah, and they just kill him. It reminds me that my expectations of people cant be so high since we really haven't changed in 2000 years. What does everyone think?

Jesus IS a fascinating person. Since you know next to nothing about the Bible, you might be VERY interested in reading the 4 Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John). If you have limited time, just read Matthew, Luke, and John. As you read, let's talk about what you are reading. Jesus is really intriguing. I'm curious what your take on Him would be, reading these words for the first time.

Jesus did it, even though He knew it was going to happen. The Bible tells us that this plan had been in place since before the origins of the universe, that Jesus would come, teach, die on a cross by crucifixion, and rise again from the dead. The purpose was that was only way for people to have a relationship with God.

You're curious about how people are so brutal to someone so wise and kind. I think it's pretty obvious: people like to bring others down, especially good people. Find a flaw, attack them, slander them, injure them—whatever it takes. People's tolerance for a truly good person is quite low.

Let's talk some more.

I'm drawn to his life because it never really occurred to me how stupid people were. Not in a jerky, blame-y kind of way, but in a "shame on me for expecting the same people that killed a healer to be kinder to me" kind of way. Sometimes I feel like the only way to get people to like me is to not exist, since whatever I do will inevitably bother someone. My parents were terrible. I stuffed what they did down and hoped I would never see such behavior ever again. But I just cant escape the sinning nature of humans

Way back when Michael Jordan was at the top of his game, and arguably the best basketball player who ever graced the court, I knew people who just hated him and wanted to bring him down, wanted to see him lose. Heaven forbid they appreciate his skill! They always rooted for the opposing team and just wanted to see him humiliated. People hate a winner.

Recently it's been the same with NE Patriots. Oh, people despise a winner. They wanted Brady and the Pats to go down to the grave.

But it's the same in school. You get a kid who's a really good kid, and the other kids make fun of him and bully him, taunt him, and are so mean. They just can't stand someone who is not on their level, and they are driven to turn him bad.

> But I just cant escape the sinning nature of humans

This is a message that's very common in the Bible. The Bible says people have a corruption that penetrates way down into their hearts, and they need a God to help them escape their own human heart.

Thats a tough reality to face. My parents were so terrible to me and I had hoped to never encounter people like that ever again. Boy was I wrong.
