Why do you think Cain killed Abel?

I've seen some people discuss about it and I'm curious on your thoughts.

According to Genesis 4.7, it stemmed from anger (Gn. 4.6). It was because sin was "crouching at [his] door." Since it followed the acceptance of Abel's offering and the rejection of Cain's, we might assume it was the anger of envy, taking his anger for God out on Abel, or simply because Cain's heart was depraved. The Genesis text implies that Cain had the wrong attitude, and Hebrews 11 shows us that Abel was acting out of faith, implying that Cain was not acting out of faith. The combination of a God-rejecting heart attitude advanced his anger to murder (cf. Mt. 5.21-22).
