Those who seek God seek the true God. It does no good to follow a false God. Since the Lord All-Powerful has spoken, then anyone who seeks truth would recognize and accept the true God.
It has always been the will of the Lord All-Powerful to be the God of the whole world.
- Gn. 12.3, 18.18, 22.18; 26.4: All peoples on Earth will be blessed through Abraham and his descendants.
- Isa. 9.1-2: The Gentiles will see a great light.
- Isa. 60.3: The nations will be drawn to the true light.
He is the God of Israel, but the blessing God extended to Abraham, his descendants, and the nation of Israel, is meant for the whole world. Abraham's children will be the channel through whom blessing will come to all.
Blessing for the whole world shows up again in Ex. 19.5-6 in Israel's priestly role. Though Israel is God's treasured possession, they are not to live in isolation. Israel serves a priestly role among the nations as intermediaries between the people of the world and God. Their purpose is to reduce the gap between God and humanity.
We follow God because we want to be part of the covenant people and to be grafted in to the God of truth.
