I don’t know if I’m alone, but I have called upon the name of the Lord out a hundred times (no exaggeration). I doubt so much and question everything and think “can a saved person think this?” Then I think “well he can walk out on me at any moment if I’m not saved” and then I avoid a sin and then call upon his name again. It’s terrible. It’s like I feel like I can’t believe. I am suffering terribly and feel like I cannot get saved. I ask him to help me believe what I need to believe to be saved and I don’t know if he’s helped me yet. I just feel hopeless. I feel like he’s going to shut the door and let me go beyond hope of getting saved at any given moment. I just feel like there is no hope left for me. Please pray for me. Does anyone have advice? Has anyone struggled like this before?

I'm sorry to hear you are suffering over this, and especially that you feel there is no hope for you.

Salvation is not a matter of emotions, how you feel, or how it makes you feel. In that sense it's sort of like citizenship in a country: it's a fact based on the situation regardless of how you feel about it. Some are excited, some shrug their shoulders. But what matters is the fact of the reality. If you have called on the name of the Lord, repented of your sins and asked Him to save you, then you are saved, regardless of how it makes you feel.

It's OK to doubt and question everything. That's how we learn. Doubts and question drive us to investigate, think, research, and learn.

The Bible says God won't walk out on you because of sin—but only if you habitually reject Him. Our sins don't make Him leave us. God sticks by us and helps us work through it. He teaches us, strengthens us, and doesn't leave us (Deuteronomy 31.6, 8; Isaiah 42.16). Let's talk some more. You are obviously very distraught.
