Ha, no. His vision has similarities to Isaiah's vision of God in Isaiah 6 and John's vision of God in Revelation. It's how God reveals Himself to humans. There are also many elements of Ezekiel's description (composite creatures) that are very common in the ancient Near East. The vision of precious stones, lightning, and eyes were common expressions of deity in the Babylonian culture. The wheels are symbolic of God's omnipresence. Interpreting the vision as Ezekiel seeing an alien spaceship is the product of some people's over-active imaginations.
