Jesus continues his “boot camp” talk to his followers. “Don’t think you’ll be respected for following me. Just the opposite: people will put you down, ridicule, and even hate you. They treated me the same way, so don’t let it surprise you or make you think that something’s wrong. That’s the way it’s going to be. It’s the way they treat anyone who doesn’t conform to their way of life. Don’t worry; the problem isn’t with you, but with them.” God’s true presence will reveal their false pretense.
