Proverbs 12.14 — A life without regrets

“From the fruit of their lips people are filled with good things, and the work of their hands brings them reward.” We have here two important principles of life: nice words and hard work. Both of them will get you far, and the combination of both brings reward. Whatever one says and does will have consequences for that person. Wise words and noble actions (in a perfect world) will bring good and satisfying results. So speak well and live right.

There is genuine value in living a life that is not creating regrettable actions and words you wish you could take back. The wiser, discerning person will think first, so that one’s words are seasoned with grace and you don’t have to worry about them coming back at you. So also with your actions. Guilt and regret turn into heavy burdens to carry through life. The better path is the one creating good.
