Luke 2.11

“Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.”

The incarnation was the first “day of the Lord.” Jesus came, according to the Scriptures, at just the right time, according to plan, in the fullness of time. Millennia of prophetic pronouncements came down to this day, this place, this person. Millennia of faith and expectation, skepticism and scorn is suddenly brought to light and fulfilled. Fulfilled.

It was a real day of history—when the faithful finally smile in vindication and the antagonists stand mouth agape and still in opposition.

The evidence of the birth doesn’t convince the doubters, it motivates them to scorn, grounded in their bias. But to those who are open to the light, this evidence motivates them to receive and believe.
